From primary school teacher to dev educator
I grew up in Switzerland, where studied Sports Science and Education at University.
I spent my early career as a primary school teacher, where I practiced the art of breaking down complex topics to make them easy to understand. Eventually, I made the leap into tech. First as a designer, then as a developer, and finally as a video producer.
In a way, I came full circle. I became a developer advocate and educator, combining everything I’d learned about teaching with a deep passion for web technologies.
Reaching developers at scale
In 2020, I joined Tailwind Labs. I created and grew the official YouTube channel from zero to over 90K subscribers, in just 18 months. That channel became a go-to resource for developers learning Tailwind CSS, and helped establish the visual, hands-on teaching style that the community has come to expect from Tailwind’s official content.
Before Tailwind CSS became the industry standard it is today, I was one of its earliest and most vocal advocates. I’ve probably convinced more developers to give Tailwind CSS a try than anybody outside of Adam Wathan himself, through talks, courses, and countless passionate conversations on Twitter.
Which is how I ended up working at Tailwind Labs in the first place!
Working with high profile dev educators
I’ve had the privilege of producing high-quality educational content for some of the most respected names in web development:
- Adam Wathan, Creator of Tailwind CSS
- Kent C. Dodds, as a partner instructor on the Epic Web platform
- Jeffrey Way, Creator of Laracasts
I bring a rare combination of deep technical knowledge, strong design sensibility, and professional video production skills to every project I work on.
Enterprise training
I’ve delivered React training workshops to senior engineering teams at Atlassian, helping experienced developers sharpen their skills and adopt modern patterns. My background in education means I don’t just know the material. I know how to teach it effectively.
Screencast production nerd
Over the past 10+ years, I’ve been constantly iterating over my home screencast recording setup. What started as a webcam and a USB microphone has evolved into a carefully tuned production environment. I’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge (and gear) along the way.
Microphones, lighting, camera settings, acoustic treatment, and everything in between. I share some of those thoughts on my Better Dev Screencasts blog, but I’ve got a lot more to say!
If you’re producing developer content and want to look and sound professional at your home or office setup, this is something I can help with.
Let’s work together
I’m available for hire. Whether you need someone to produce top-notch developer education content, help you set up a professional screencast studio, or bring a unique blend of design, development, and video production skills to your project or team, let’s talk!
You can also find me on Twitter. Yes, I am chronically online.
